Light and colour dominate Alison Vickery’s work, much of which is inspired by walks along pathways, locally through the countryside, by the side of canals and rivers, and coast paths.
Alison, represented by Spencer House Gallery in Tetbury, works in a wide range of media, creating lively paintings that capture the essence of her subject.
Drop-in Workshop: Saturday 13 September. 11am-1pm.
Alison will be demonstrating some of the techniques she used to create Pathways in this free session.
Meet the Artist: Wednesday 17 September. 6pm.
An open invitation to enjoy the exhibition and meet the artist. Alison will also be in conversation with Chris Woodcock of Spencer
House Gallery, discussing how she created the exhibition.
About Alison

Alison studied graphic design and illustration in London in the 1980s, followed by a successful career in design, illustration, and advertising. In 1994 she decided to concentrate on her passion for drawing and painting and went freelance as an artist.
She has worked on private and commercial commissions for, amongst others, The National Trust and John Lewis. Many of Alison’s paintings and designs are published under licence. Her work is also permanently exhibited in a number of galleries and is in many private collections.
Alison works in a wide range of media creating lively paintings which capture the essence of her subject. The focus of her art process is drawing and mark making, starting with a response to her subject, often in one of her many sketch books and many hours spent out in the landscape.
