Exploring the woman behind the bright colours, the big brows and the floral crowns, Exhibition on Screen: Frida Kahlo explores the source of this iconic artist’s feverish creativity, her resilience and her unmatched lust for life, beauty and revolution.
Making use of the latest technology to explore her work in new detail, this award-winning film is a cinematic feast of colour and symbolism and offers audiences privileged access to Kahlo’s works, her home and her studio.
Frida Kahlo draws on interviews with leading curators and Frida’s own words to create this personal and intimate journey through the life and passions of one of the world’s favourite artists.
The film was first created during Covid but is reprised here with additional new material from the curators of the groundbreaking new Tate Britain and MFA Houston exhibition.
Exhibition on Screen is a new addition to our popular screenings programme.
