Amanda Griffiths and Helen Hardaker work alongside each other in adjacent studios. This exhibition showcases their shared interest in richly coloured dreamscapes, patterned and painterly storytelling peopled with a vibrant and unruly cast of creatures and characters.

Open evening Wednesday 11 March. 6-7:30pm.
An opportunity to hear directly from the artists.

Amanda’s work is embedded with a sense of magic and storytelling. These vibrant and powerful journeys through oneiric landscapes dig us deep. Here are wild beings and brave creatures who demand we hear their stories, their loves and losses.

They are us beneath skin and masks , inviting us to walk between worlds with them to a truer place. Live your life, honour the earth, cry your tears, love well. Dive in to this wondrous enchanting and honest work.

Helen’s paintings are rich in colour and viscosity, amplifying intense emotions and shouty passions about the subjects within. Made up worlds and drama-filled landscapes where animals step into the shoes of humans to carry metaphor and meaning: through this unique lens Hardaker invites the audience to take part and ask questions about the complexities of the worlds we inhabit.

Her drawings are visceral and free with a mesmerising quality of line and smudge.

The exhibition opening times are 10-4pm Wednesdays through Sundays. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays and occasionally for other events in the main hall: we recommend you call first if travelling a distance to avoid disappointment.
