Caroline Mathias will be running a fascinating workshop with a focus on dancing to live a la parilla music performed by the quartet. Caroline will also be the DJ for the milonga.
Tango Calor is a collective of musicians with a love for Argentine tango music.
Formed by bandoneonist Mirek Salmon in 2016, the group also features guitar virtuoso Daryl Kellie and sensational vocalist Jimi Can. Mirek has performed with BBC orchestras, Welsh National Opera and the Royal Shakespeare Company amongst others.
Daryl Kellie has been described by D’Addario strings as “truly stunning” and Jimi Can is a consummate showman who is a key figure from Bristol’s burgeoning Afro-Cuban and Flamenco music scenes.
Tango Calor has performed up and down the country in arts centres, tango clubs and world music festivals.
Appearances include La Linea festival in London, Cheltenham International Tango Festival, Glasto Latino, La Ronda in Puglia and Cosmo Jazz festival in Luchon. The trio will be joined by wonderful tango violinst Carola Hengstenberg who runs the Bristol Community Tango Orchestra with Mirek.
