PARKING
We are located next to the free Old Railyard Long Stay Car Park with 6 Disabled spaces. Please do not park in our Staff Parking spaces, or directly in front of The Shed. We must keep this area free for emergency vehicle access. Disabled Drop Off and approved vendor stalls only.
THE GOODS SHED
The foyer, hall, box office, disabled toilet and café are fully accessible on the ground floor. The hall has a level wooden floor.
Please be aware that in wet weather, the pavement outside The Shed leading to the Foyer and the Café can become slippery.
EVENT SEATING AND ACCESS
Standard seating at The Shed is raked with a handrail fitted to one side. There are 14 rows, with 2 steps per row with an additional 2 steps to the first row – 30 steps total to the top of the rake.
Each event has up to 10 disabled seats available. These are chairs set on the floor, with no raised access. These can also be removed to make space for a wheelchair.
The chairs in the rake have armrests, most of the chairs on the floor do not. Chairs are 520mm across.
When seating is in ‘cabaret’ style with tables, tables are all on the level with chairs with no armrests. Usually a row in front of a smaller raked seating is still reserved for wheelchair users and those with accessibility issues.
Bar access is via gravel path, with a small paved path directly in front.
HEARING LOOP
For amplified events that use our sound system, we have a hearing loop. Simply worn around the neck, our equipment works with either t-coil hearing aids or headphones.
Please talk to the box office on arrival if you require a set. We have 3 available for each event.
Events covered include:
- Screenings @ The Shed (Cinema)
- Shed Talks
- Some music events.
Please note that these do not work on acoustic events, including theatre, or events that bring their own sound system (usually large bands, tribute bands etc).
With thanks to the Barnwood Trust for their funding to allow us to purchase this equipment.

THE MARY JANE CARRIAGE
Access is via steps only. These can be slippery when wet.
PLAYGROUND
Access is over grass, with some gravel areas. The gate is wide enough for a wheelchair.
