Karina Gabner
Throughout a career as an art and photography teacher, Karina’s personal work has often been influenced by her A-level students and their responses to art making. Her inspiration comes from many sources; poetry, music, landscape, wild flowers and architecture. Current interests include collage, watercolour, art history, traditional photography and experimenting with lesser known photographic techniques, such as dyeing, toning or solarizing black and white prints.
Jim Reynolds
Jim has been designing, carving, tooling and staining leather creations for some decades now, typically decorative but generally also with a practical use.
Along the way he has made many of the tools he uses. He particularly loves the design stage and coming up with new ideas. The fungi are purely decorative. He is fascinated by fungi and spends many hours seeking it out in the autumn. Plants also give him much joy and he loves to represent them in leather. Brooches and hatpins provide that opportunity.
Dave Griffiths
David Griffiths lives in Bristol and works in charcoal and watercolour. He studied fine art at Leeds College of Art and photography and film making at Plymouth College of Art and Design. After choosing a career in music he continued to draw and take photographs. He rediscovered his passion for painting and drawing just before the pandemic. He is inspired by chaotic landscapes, trees and abandoned industrial machinery bringing a sense of time passing and time lost as reminders of our history. He finds abandoned, rusting machines retain a power and beauty as time and weather transform them into intriguing abstracts.
