Bath Textile Artists started in the 1980s and continues today with an enthusiastic and versatile group of 13 members. The Group was originally based in Bath but now has members from further afield including Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Dorset.
We meet on a monthly basis at various venues to discuss future exhibitions, exchange ideas, show work and occasionally demonstrate particular techniques.
Our members use textiles in all their forms – silk, cotton, wool, paper – and a variety of different techniques: hand and machine stitching, collage, weaving, felting to name a few.
A number of us also paint, dye and print our own textiles. We often work to a theme which involves researching a topic or area. This all results in a glorious eclectic mix of pieces.
