Amore Bruciante (“searing love”) seeks voices that linger between dream and desire: a repertoire that resonates with moments of stillness – a solitary birdsong, a shimmer of night – and a love that sets the soul alight.
Their choices range from the folk-inflected intimacy of Berio’s Quattro Canzoni Popolari to the nocturnal stillness of Berg and Barber, via the vivid intensity of the pulsing dances and longing found in Turina, Falla, and Albéniz.
Soprano Caroline Blair has been a Young Artist for Ryedale Festival and Waterperry Opera Festival and is a previous winner of the Joan Chissell Schumann Lieder Prize and recipient of the Academy’s Eldee Award for Outstanding Studentship.
Pianist Katya Grabova has appeared at the Aspen Music Festival, the Rheingau Musik Festival, and the Leeds International Concert Season, and has performed at Wigmore Hall, the Southbank Centre, the Shanghai Concert Hall, and the Moscow Conservatory.
