Oboist Harold Ho Long Lee was born in Hong Kong. He studied at Wells Cathedral School before joining the Royal Academy of Music to study with Christopher Cowie.

Going into his third year of undergraduate studies in September, Howard won the Academy’s oboe prize in his 2nd year and performed as Principal in the Academy Symphony Orchestra.

Xiaowen Shang, who performed at one our June 2026 Lunchtime Concert, is a versatile pianist and harpsichordist with a passion for early, classical, and contemporary music.

Her repertoire spans Renaissance composers such as Antonio de Cabezón and William Byrd to contemporary figures including Olivier Messiaen, Pierre Boulez, and Brett Dean. She has collaborated with renowned musicians and composers such as Steven Isserlis, Joanna MacGregor, Rachel Podger, Brett Dean, Dame Imogen Cooper, Lawrence Power, and Adrian Brendel.
