Step into the enchanting world of The Bookshop Band at Tetbury Goods Shed, where the songs unfold like chapters in a grand literary saga.
In collaboration with the award-winning Bath bookshop, Mr B’s Emporium of Reading Delights, Ivor Novello-nominated composers Beth Porter and Ben Please write songs inspired by the books of the visiting authors.
The band are about to re-emerge in full force, and there is a buzz surrounding the anticipated release of their first album in seven years.
Produced by none other than Pete Townshend (The Who), it features songs inspired by authors Margaret Atwood, Robert Macfarlane and Philip Pullman.
Do join us for an early Sunday evening treat as they bring great books to the stage along with a multitude of instruments, including cello, harmonium, glockenspiel, guitars and ukuleles. Along with their distinct voices, they create a cinematic sound that draws the audience right in to a highly intimate performance, at once touching, mesmerizing, heart wrenching and funny.
