As part of our 2025 Wool Festival, scheduled for October, this is another opportunity to Join Jane Haines of the History of Tetbury Society (HOTS) on her very popular stroll around the town and through its historical association with wool.
There was a time when wool from Cotswold sheep was in demand around the world. Wool money paid for beautiful churches and mansions in places like Fairford and other market towns.
Much of Tetbury’s wealth in those days came from sheep and wool – there is a reason why we celebrate with the Woolsack Races!
Many of the oldest houses in town had connections in one way or another to the trade, and during the walk you’ll learn some of the intriguing stories these buildings have to tell.
Last time, this walk sold out really quickly, so do not delay – book your ticket today.
