An exciting concert featuring fourteen up-and-coming young singers from the world of musical theatre and opera. Two experts will be judging the singers as they compete for the prestigious Chris Treglown Memorial Prize of £1,000 – and for two further awards of £500.
The foundation was set up in memory of Chris Treglown, a highly talented young singer who was tragically killed in a car accident in Cirencester in 2012. It aims to support young singers and help them showcase their talents.
The concert will be hosted by by Daniel Jagusz Holley, who is returning from an international tour of Phantom of the Opera, and judged by Robert Dean and Will Poole assisted by international singer and coach, Maria Jagusz. The musical director and accompanist is Will Sharma.
The concert is in two parts, with musical theatre singers performing before a 15-minute interval and classical singers performing in the second half. Each singer will perform two contrasting songs. While the judges retire to make their decisions, Daniel Jagusz Holley will sing and entertain the audience.
The evening culminates with the presentation of the three prizes by Julia and John Treglown: £1,000 for the most outstanding singer from both categories; £500 for the most promising classical singer, and £500 for the most promising musical theatre singer.
