Saturday 18 January 2025. 7:30pm
Harpsicord and Flute with Tom Foster and Georgia Browne
Baroque flautist Georgia Browne and harpsichordist Tom Foster take an indulgent musical excursion through the palace and gardens of Versailles.
Centred around the music performed at musical gatherings for Kings Louis XIV and XV, this programme of three vignettes offers a glimpse into the rarefied life of music at the French court in the early eighteenth century. The three musical sets have been created to replicate the use of the dance suite as a manner of grouping together shorter pieces of music.
Saturday 15 February 2025. 7:30pm
Cello and Piano with Tim Posner & Mishka Rushdie Momen
Winner of the Thierry Scherz Prize at Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad 2023, Tim Posner is also the first British cellist to have been awarded a prize at the International Karl Davidov Competition. Born in 1995, he began playing the cello at the age of eight, studying with his mother, Julia Desbruslais and subsequently with Robert Max.
Hailed as “one of the most thoughtful and sensitive of British pianists”, Mishka Rushdie Momen captivates audiences with her refined and expressive playing. She studied with Joan Havill and Imogen Cooper at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama as well as Richard Goode, and at the Kronberg Academy with Sir András Schiff.
